Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness by seeking him through the bible.

Please be advised that we have many members on this forum who consider themselves to be fundamental Christians in their religious belief. ANY post made in this thread should be respectful of that, in adherence with the Sticky. Not all believe in the same way, but that is no excuse for either ridicule or rudeness. This is just a reminder and early intervention in order to keep thread civil, infractions to a minimum, and to keep the thread open.

Please be respectful, folks!

Thanks!

~June

I still think it is awesome to find a Gideon's Bible in hotels. I may not read it, but I usually look for it.
There is never a guarantee on the abiding part.

I don't see how anything in a thread dedicated to mocking Christians and the bible can be respectful in a Christian forum. This belongs in the 'religion' forum where people are free to ridicule Christianity.

Is lampooning ideas about the bible disrespectful to people who hold them? I think there is a difference, and that is June's point. Now let's see if I got that wrong.

I'm sorry...but to be honest, the fact that this thread is allowed to continue demonstrates how skewed against Christianity this board is. When I attempt to talk about what orthodox Christianity is, and suggest that someone's beliefs are not within it, I get told I'm "bashing denominations".

I guess that would depend on whether the particular denomination was named.
Fundamentalist is not a denomination, but a set of perceptions shared by many and varying to some degree also. So far then my point stands.
