“Every generation since Jesus died on the cross has been sure of Christ’s return during their lifetime.” It may very well be true that each generation anticipated Jesus’ return, and well so. However, anticipation and hope alone aren’t what will facilitate Jesus’ soon return to earth. According to the prophetic scriptures, Jesus would only return after certain events unfolded.

Any Church that did not encourage members to think that they are/may be in the last days is a waste of time to attend. Jesus said to keep on the watch even though we cannot know the day or hour.

This mind set is critical to avoid being drawn into the world to such a degree you lose any real interest in Christ. This wrong mindset is exemplified in Churches that focus on everyone going to heaven at death, which is counter to scripture, but appealing to members, Or OSAS which does the same thing, self focus. Every NT writer, and the words of Jesus address the End as coming in their day. They show the need to keep that focus, even though even Jesus did not know the day and hour. It is a protection.

Simple Trickery promulgated by The Church used to control the Minions. Its called "FEAR !"

So..the prophets of the NT didn't trust their followers to do what was right...they thought it best to TRICK them into believing Christ was RETURNING "any second now . . . so be Ready ! ! !"

Really... ? ? ?

The draw of the World has that much power over a "True Believer ?"
