Not to belabor the point, especially since it's off-topic but I wanted to mention that removing the flag isn't going to remove feelings. If those individuals had any type of prejudice, they would still harbor it. The issue of the flag is nothing but a distraction.
Only to you. Those of us who do not wish it flying at the Capitol feel very differently. Perhaps it is the hand of God that made these people think about the effect of the flag on others.
Jesus' actions at the Temple did not change a thing at the Temple. The money changers still changed money and the bbq of animal offerings continued. His actions reverberate today, yet was looked upon as a distraction at the time.
I know God in his great glory has something magnificent up his sleeve! This is similar to when he was quiet when Satan went around Heaven looking to coerce the angels to join him in his legion against God. He thought that God could not see or hear him doing those things but he found out as soon as tried to step inside of God again (as he always did), God sent a thunderbolt of love towards him and threw him down to Hell. Whatever is coming, it's going to be delicious and the enemy is mad!

First of all it was never flying at the Capitol.
Secondly, again it still doesn't change those individuals feelings.
Jesus was correcting people who degrading the church, we are suppressing people's rights to express themselves. One is meant to teach the other is meant to control the power of one's voice. Jesus didn't tell them to stop selling, he told them selling that stuff was wrong. Big difference.

And ditching that flag says selling bigotry is wrong.

Right?
What's considered wrong in this country is subjective.
We are given the right to express our opinions regardless. I don't have to agree with someone using that flag but I believe it's their right to express themselves.
That's a good point, but I wonder this: What happens now when a gay couple wants to get married in a church, and the pastor/priest denies it? At that point it does become a religious issue if the couple is dead-set on getting married in a church, or a specific church. They may even be willing to file a lawsuit to get their way or prove a point. Now it becomes a religious issue AND a discrimination issue.

First of all the flag used to fly at the Capitol and after a lengthy debate, it was moved to a monument on public property. I do not wish to see it on public property along with others.
My point is Jesus actions changed nothing at the time. The Temple continued as if he never rebuked them.
Not one person is being stopped from flying the flag at their home, or on their car, or at their business. People have been thinking of the meaning, and how it effects others. The flag is a start, and change happens and hearts are softened with one step at a time. There is more work to be done.
What if enough of us decide that we don't want to live in this society anymore ?
That's when the rubber will hit the road one day.
When 9 political appointees in black robes vote 5 to 4 can do away with a divine
institution that has been in place since this history of man, then something is wrong.
That is not a country worth dying for, or living in, in my estimation.
