Father John that was nice, but you do know there are those and will be those who will disqualify you as a Christian because you dare question the Bible and in some case, do not uphold certain unfounded biases...um, Christian concepts. Just watch and see.
600 years ago, they would be lathering you with something highly flammable about now. LOL

Christian means Christlike or as Christ.
Anyone care to take that name upon themselves.
I think i'll wait until it is given me, my new name...
Then i'll know if He chose me...
Many are called, few are chosen...
godspeed,
freedom

Many Think There Is A Set Formula To Being Called Or Being A Christian.this Is Only Man's Humble Opinion And Definition. Those Who Followed Jesus Were Uneducated.they Did Not Have A Bible To Follow Or To Validate That They Were Indeed Christians .luke Was Educated, But It Had No Bearing On His Knowledge About Christ.he Would Have To Be Just Like Everyone Else And Follow Jesus To Be A Disciple.not Thru His Own Or Acquired Knowledge,it Had To Be Thru The Teaching's And Following Of The Savior.
They Grew In Knowledge By Knowing Him.without A Direct Personal Relationship With Him,they Would Not Be Able To Love And Follow Him.paul Did Indeed Know The Lord.remember, On His Walk To Damascus He Was Blinded ? Then He Could See. Either He Was Saved That Day And Knew Jesus As His Savior, which Gave Him The Holy Ghost And The Ability To Write And Teach About The Lord And To His Sheep Or He Was A Phoney Manipulating Liar. If The First Is So,then There Is No Need To Question What He Wrote Or Writings That Do Not Appear In The Holy Scritures.

As I've said on several occasions;
As a Christian, the more I learn about Christianity, the more I realize I just might not be a Christian.

Well I'm sure you are... but as it says in scripture, we are 'filthy rags".
I'm trying oxy-clean.... next.... can't get "filthy" off.

There are three possible answers to the question:
1.) A Christian is anyone that accepts and tries to live the teaching of Jesus of Nazareth. They are not required to accept him as deity, but they earnestly seek to apply his teachings and wisdom in their lives.
2.) A Christian is someone who accepts the divinity of Christ.
3.) A Christian is someone who accepts Christ, believes in the doctrine of the Holy Trinity and readily accepts a fairly substantial list doctrines regarding God, Christ and several other matters.
Number 1 is too broad and too wishy-washy. If you accept the teaching of Christ is seems a tad unreasonable to skip over the part about him being the Son of God and such.
Number 3 is to narrow and too unreasoning. It seems to claim that you have to accept Christ on other people's terms and not your own.
Number 2 seems just about right. I'm going with Number 2.

Some will say, "unless you are born again, you are not saved." Others proclaim in a similar vein, "you must confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior." Still others declare that one must be baptized in the name of the Trinity
Every single bible I own says those things. Not some random person speaking to me...it's in the Word.
Can you be a Christian and not believe the Bible?
I don't think so.

Your bible says you have to be born in the name of the trinity? Which bible is that?I can`t find the word trinity in my bible!

I believe a christian is one who has given their lives completely for the gospel.
When I gave my life to Him, I was saying I know longer have a right to myself in all that I do, say, everything about me. I am to trust and obey Him and the power of His word, whether I may understand at the time or not.
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Gal. 2:20
In order to receive this blessing I need to be born again. And accept the sacrifice Christ gave for my sin and the world.
I live now, not my will, but the will of the Father. And that life leads me in many things, and yet I give it all to Him no matter what.
That life can be sweet and bitter, but I am to follow Him in all things in the strength of His Holy Spirit. That when someone see me they see Him.

Uh, I know you know what I meant, but since you want to 'go there', my bible says to baptize disciples in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit....three things make a Trinity.
Sorry I was so vague.
How much more do you agree with Father John's version of the Bible and his views of Christ?
