Don't ask. He thinks he is the Son of Man sent as Jesus was direct from the Father. He has memorized the words in the Bible and believes he is supposed to preach them at every opportunity. He literally believes God wants words from us.

No one has gone up to heaven except the one who came down from heaven, the son of man.

Only the One who comes from God has seen the Father. I come from Him, He sent me.

Thinking as man one cannot believe what I say but when you walk in the light the darkness disappears and one can see the kingdom of heaven.

No one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born from above.

Jesus talked to three different factions of people while He walked the earth:

Pharisee - those self righteous (the worst)

Law Keeper - those who hoped they were good enough

Without Hope - the group we all should be in, or should see ourselves before Him

If you read Jesus' words without taking note of the context, you'll make the mistake of thinking everything applies to you at this moment in time. While it probably fits us at different times of our lives, it wouldn't all at once.
