Hi All,

Does anyone know the Latin word corresponding to the Greek "Agape" (larger Christian definition of "love")?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agape

Thanks for your help,

Caritas.

The word charity stems from the Latin caritas.

The Latin Vulgate uses diligitis or a form of it.

Both charite and dilectio for the Latin Vulgate - the other one I had was wrong.

Default Translation of "Agape" into Latin?

Regardless what the various transliterations are . . . it means a love and concern for the well-being of everyone involved. It is a pure love that has nothing to do with Eros or Lust . . . despite the impressions from the Hippie manifestations of it.
