No contradiction.

and what's more you will have to bow the knee before Jesus acknowledging that he is God, the promised Messiah as prophesied.

  • Death didn't claim him, Jesus gave up his his spirit Luke 23:46

Mary did not voluntarily die either.

To answer your question, no Protestant denomination believes Mary was sinless. I can't speak for the Orthodox.

There is no passage which states anything special about Mary's sin nature. There is nothing in the Bible about her conception or assumption to heaven after death. She is called "blessed among women," but that's hardly enough to base all these curious beliefs on. Protestant Christians naturally affirm that apart from being specially chosen and blessed to bear Jesus, there was nothing about Mary that was unlike other women.

Of course, there are passages which speak of Jesus's lack of sin, e.g. 2 Corinthians 5:21, "He [God] made him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf."

We do have the reference of John 3:13 that No one had ascended to heaven except Jesus.
Jesus viewed his mother according to John 2:3-4; 19:26 as ' woman '
Also, Mary did make an offering for her sins - Luke 2:21-24; Leviticus 12:6,8
What kind, if any, veneration was given to Mary by Jesus at Mark 3:31-35 and at Luke 11:27-28 ?
Where does Mary fit into the picture at 1st Timothy 2:5 ?

Please keep in mind when the Jews demanded a sign from Jesus - John 2: 18-22 - that sign was given in an illustrative way.
When Jesus was resurrected by his Father and God it was Not in his fleshly physical body. That was sacrificed and gone.

Surely Peter was Not telling a lie at Acts 3:12-15 that God raised Jesus from the dead.
Surely Peter was Not telling a lie at Acts 5:29-30 that the God of our fathers raised up Jesus.
Surely Paul was Not telling a lie at Acts 13:16,30,37 that God raised up Jesus.
Surely Paul was Not telling a lie at Colossians 2:12 B that God raised Jesus form the dead
Surely gospel writer Luke was Not telling lies in his writing of the Acts of the Apostles.

Where did Adam's spirit go at Adam's death - Genesis 3:19
All of Adam went from non-life, to life, and ' returned ' back to non-life.
Our spirit ' returns ' back to God in the sense that a foreclosed house ' returns ' back to the owner.
The house does Not go anywhere but its future rests in the hands of the owner.
Our future resurrection lies in the hands of Christ Jesus who was given the power of the resurrection by his God.
- Rev. 1:18; Acts 24:15

There are no biblical references... Maybe that's why it's an assumption.

Exactly.

Maybe you are just being persnickety with my terms.

His physical death was witnessed. The fact that His body did not return to the ground was witnessed. He did not die for His sins. He died for our sins. Because I am linked to Him, His death is used for my sins.

Thus Jesus is God or is as the Jews of his day accused him of blaspheme.

There is a reason why JW's disapprove Christmas and the Cross:
  • The empty tomb proves Jesus' Godhood
  • The Christmas story
    • has Jesus being worshiped by the shepherds and the wise men
    • has "Immanuel - which means God with us"
Isaiah 7:14
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.

Matthew 1:23
“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).
Good post.
