Great answer !!!....... and thanks for sharing the verses you posted. I am so used to arguing this point with persons who will not accept anything from the NT as being from God, I had overlooked these NT verses that say it plainly, and without any doubt to the truth within the words being spoken by Jesus

You have posted the good news, but the bad news is the church (whom the kingdom was supposed to be given to) lost its way after the death of the last apostle. This was prophesied in Daniel when it says "after 62 years shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself": (Dan.9:26)

The "body of Christ" (Messiah) is a many membered body that continued on just fine after Jesus ascended unto heaven and during the time of the roman invasion in 70 AD all the way until the last apostle died prophesied of again in the words of Paul as "he who letteth let is taken out of the way" that was the fulfilment of the cutting off of the "body of the Messiah" 62 years after He ascended unto heaven. (2Thess.2:7)

After the above happened the mystery of iniquity that was already at work took over the helm of the church plunging it into captivity to mystery Babylon where it has remained ever since the end of the first century. This was the great falling away that most churches think is starting to happen now not realizing they have been already been duped and held captive to false doctrines on just about everything taught in the church other than Jesus being the Son of God who died for our sins and was resurrected on the third day.

However, all is not lost and soon the truth will become known that will the allow church to return from captivity to worshipping the image of the beast in mystery Babylon. This is when God will guard over His chosen gathered together and worshiping Him in Spirit and in truth not allowing any enemy to pass through them ever again.......... Praise the Lord who cannot lie nor will his Word ever return void (unfulfilled)

Why on earth would God let His church plunge into darkness and heresy for 2000 years? That makes no sense, like most current Christian teachings.

This is a good question I cannot say I know the complete answer........... however,

There always was seven 1000 year days starting with Adam in the garden that need to be completed before the 8th day that is the start of "new beginnings"

We are only in the beginning of the 7th day which is the 3rd day since Jesus who said in the third day His body would be perfected.

One thing that is apparent to most when they consider it; had the church following the church of the Apostles (who knew what was coming) not lost its way and continued on on the same manner as the apostles did, whom through them God healed the sick and raised the dead the same as Jesus did, most of the world would be followers of Christ.

Then there has always been the plan of God to bring many sons (and daughters) to glory through making man not just in His image as with Adam and Eve, but in both His Image and Likeness of whom there has been only one exact copy to date seen in His Son Jesus. Jesus who "finished" what He came to do and left so He could sow many seeds (the seed that is Christ in us) some of which will fulfill all of the law of the seed and mature into an exact copy of the Tree of Life, Jesus Christ from whom the seeds came from.

In the first century church members did not need health insurance because they knew elders who God worked through and would heal them of terminal diseases.......... something that is no longer the case and especially in the churches of the west.

This is just a start as list goes on and on

Almost the whole book of Zechariah was written prophetically.

Eight night visions and oracles 1:7–6:8
First vision —A man on a red horse and an accompanying oracle 1:7–17
Second vision —Four horns and four smiths 2:1–4 (Eng. 1:18–21)
Third vision —The man with a measuring line and an accompanying vision 2:5–17 (Eng. 2:1–13)
Fourth vision —The accusation of the high priest and accompanying oracles 3:1–10
Fifth vision —A golden lampstand, two olive trees and accompanying oracles 4:1–14
Sixth vision —The flying scroll 5:1–4
Seventh vision —A woman in an ephah 5:5—11
Eighth vision —The chariots and the four winds—6:1–8

If it happens that the part written is prophetic, it's no point to single its context out.

Zechariah Chapter 9 (NIV)

Judgment On Israel's enemies
Verses 1 - 8

The Coming of Zion's King
Verses 9 - 13

The Lord will Appear
Verses 14 - 17

The chapter seems to be more closely related to the book of revelation.

Nothing is more miserably than spending an eternity in hell. God's job on earth is to legitimately bring as many souls as possible from being captive in hell. He knows well that the Canaanites will wind up in hell, so He allows the Jews to kill the Canaanites for their own survival before their enemies can wipe out Israel. The survival of Israel thus bring in the salvation of later humans.

The Shepherd killed the wolves, bearing a bad name among the wolves, however saved the millions of sheep.

God now endorses GENOCIDE. This is the same rationale people used to murder the Native Americans and Blacks throughout American history..
