Because so many people are brainwashed from an early age to believe that faith in the supernatural is more valuable than reason.

In this case they had faith in something they cooked up in their own heads.

I get upset when people with a prejudice against Mormons or Catholics claim they are not Christian. Religious prejudice is destructive. I get upset when I see the idiotic nonsense people post after they read the aptly-named Slick's site and start claiming LDS aren't Christians. I am outspoken about that. I am outspoken about the religious prejudice I see among fundamentalists. If you don't like that......I do not care. So try and cope. You're repeated complaints are the sounds of a fundamentalist foot-stomping.

Exactly. So when someone or some group states "The world will end on such-and-such a date," I know for sure it's NOT going to end on that date.

I recall that the world was ending in October of 1990 or 91. A lot of Koreans were in on it. They sat in churches over there waiting. Some had even gone AWOL from the military.

You are so notoriously bad at reading and understanding posts, nothing you claim about anyone is credible. You read whatever you WANT to see . . . not what is actually posted. I refer to what they DO as hateful, NOT what they believe, Finn. I never question anyone's Christianity because only God knows who is and who isn't a Christian. None of us are capable of judging what is believed. But what people DO is easy to judge and bigoted behavior is hateful whatever the reason for it.
