It appears to me that bible fundamentalists are full of excuses for falling short of the glory of God in their daily lives, but will give no slack to those who they are assume are sinners. This truly is the spirit of the Pharisee at work doing all it knows to do....act the hypocrite.
Jimmie, like all good bible fundamentalists you give to much credence to the flesh and not enough to what is within you(greater is he that is you), it wouldn't surprise me too that you really do not understand what it means by the flesh.
When you do give to much credence to the flesh you end up with a form of godliness(I'm striving to do good)that denies the power. You'll be surprised too what godliness actually is.
He is, he might not believe it like you don't. As a man thinks in his heart so is he. All I hear from you is you are a sinner, I never hear you say you are a new creation or that old me is passed away and the life I now live I live by faith......... so it goes without saying you have a sin problem in your life.
If you're a smoker, just quit, right? If you're an alcoholic, just quit drinking. Be an adult!
It's not that easy. An alcoholic is always an alcoholic. A sinner is always a sinner.
Hopefully, recovering.
I smoke a Vanilla/Black Cavendish blend of pipe tobacco. It tastes good, is refreshing, and the aroma is heavenly. I do not plan on quitting, it is not a sin. Unless, he has been convinced of such, after quitting. An alcoholic is not always - an alcoholic. Especially, if he no longer drinks! And you are not a sinner, if you no longer sin (i.e., miss the mark).
Are you 100% sinless, meaning you never do anything that misses the mark or violates Gods law?
Living a 100% sinless life, and being freed from the penalty of sin are two very different things.
A question for clarification, are you saying that if we attempt a feat and we do not succeed at it that our failure is a sin? Or did you mean something else in reference to misses the mark. No arguing with you simply am not sure what you mean.

Sin is sometimes referred to missing the mark, which is Gods law, or Gods moral standard/holiness.
There are only kinds of people, sinners and liars.
