Jimmie... sure, some passages in the bible that use the word sacrifice ... but you take a step beyond that to say the the sacrifice was required for God to be able to forgive. That is what I take issue with.
I am saying it is different from God's standard. I wouldn't send my kids to die for anyone in that manner. God did. His love is greater than my love.
No, no, no. It's not about whether or not God sent Jesus for the purpose of dying. I don't see it that way, but that's another discussion. It's about what you believe God sent Jesus to die FOR ... and you believe it was to satisfy God's own angst about sin so that God could forgive and not condemn you to hell. From it's very core, there is nothing loving about that scenario.
You can think what you will about what I'm saying being adversarial to God's "purpose". I obviously disagree. And I do wish you'd address the actual content of what I'm saying, rather than reverting to "the bible says so". But, I know that is your truth standard. Mine is love. There's no denying that the two are at odds with each other.

Again - I don't know what the underlined is with respect to God.
And if you believe that what you described is not loving - OK.
When I was a kid, and Mom or Dad told me something, I would believe it because they were just Mom and Dad - I would just trust them because of who they were, and what they did.
The same goes for the Father in heaven.
I didn't expect much from you and was not disappointed.
