When I see things like that video and even read their "vision", I can certainly see how so many have become soured toward Christianity and as we all know, the worst of everything is what makes the news.
The fear of God as a believer is different from the fear of God as an unbeliever. I don't know which you are, and to what degree, i.e. neither state is a binary expression. For me, it means having a reverence for what God thinks without entertaining the complacency of what I may think (my opinion) on a matter. My ability to love, have compassion and show mercy is bounded. His is not - that is the extra dimension that 'fear' of the Lord brings to the table.

How did he ditch the Bible? The Bible clearly states that homosexuals are to be put to death. He's only following the Bible's teaching. Leviticus 20:13
"'If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.'"
If you are one who says "The Bible is Inerrant" it does no good to say, "That verse was for the Jews 3000 years ago. Either the Bible is for ALL people at ALL times or it is just another book on how to live a good life.
King James says "surely be put to death". That differs from "They are to be put to death."
Anyone that knows God doesn't need to debate whether Christians are going to be called on to kill people committing homosexual acts. There are a lot worse sins that directly harm not consenting parties.
I swear, I would have bet that no Christian would ever have supported such a thing. And, speaking such nonsense and hatred in front of 1,700 people. I think this falls under "see something, say something".

I came across this doing research on a political candidate. Know that I have attended 3 churches in my lifetime and never heard any say that homosexuals/gays should be killed. It seems to contradict the 10 Commandments and surely the The Golden Rule since I wouldn't want someone to kill me for sins I committed. I want to identify this religion but I just don't have a clue where to start.

While I agree that homosexuality, the practice, is sinful, it is my belief that punishment or not should be in God's hands.

Dude... you're quoting the Levitical Law of ancient Israel. Israel was a theocracy. The Book of Leviticus is part of it's code of law.
