Janelle, Madonna and child was just the Catholic version of Isis and Horus, When the RCC church was forming pagans who were being dragged into it told the bishops that their pictures of Isis and Horus were actually the Virgin Mary and Jesus. In this way they were allowed to keep and worship the pictures. They pulled the wool over the eyes of the bishops beautifully.[/quote
I would just like to point out that although Christians inevitably claim that the religion of Mithras was invented after the time of Jesus, Mithra was a popular Persian deity at least 1,000 years prior to the birth of Jesus.
Wikipedia
Mithra (Avestan: 𐬀𐬭𐬚𐬌𐬨 Miθra, Old Persian: 𐎷𐎰𐎼 Miça) is the Zoroastrian angelic Divinity (yazata) of Covenant and Oath. In addition to being the Divinity of Contracts, Mithra is also a judicial figure, an all-seeing Protector of Truth, and the Guardian of Cattle, the Harvest and of The Waters.
The Romans attributed their Mithraic Mysteries (the Mystery Religion known as Mithraism) to Persian or Zoroastrian sources relating to Mithra. http://www.city-data.com/forum/newre...ly&p=42876341&
You still had to study. If you came to study like you do the bible you didn't get much out of it.
Well I did manage to acquire multiple degrees. So I got that out of school. I also managed to pick up on the fact somewhere along the way that Luke was not an apostle. So reading the entire Bible as I have wasn't entirely in vain.

Why do you say Luke was not an apostle? Some weird links I am guessing. They are all over the Internet though, so not surprising.
There is nothing scholarly about the men of the Bible, ask Galileo Galilei.
The bible proceeds Galileo. You notice the church did agree with him when his theory was proven.
