Adam was literal, he was and IS a part of all mankind just as Eve was AND IS. Jesus was born as the first born first fruit, a new son and he became a new Adam. He was the only person not born of Adam but he was of Eve, and so it is said,'' A man shall leave his father and his mother to cleave to his bride.'' This is a great mystery but I speak of Christ and the church.
Who is the mother and father that Jesus left to become one with a bride?

Jesus takes a bride by dying and the water and blood spilled out and these two witnesses are no less than his own bride. This is why 1 John 5 talks about the two witnesses, the water, the blood both testify and the spirit is the third witness. That water and that blood that spilled out of Jesus is his bride, from his own body a bride was brought out and here we are, the water and the blood.
So what does this say about the first Adam, and if there was a need for a new Adam, it only means that the old Adam is still present within us or there would be no need for a new one.
Gentiles are promised a betrothal that would redeem them into Israel as brides of Christ but I was born a man, and so how is it that I became a submissive virgin to the will of my betrothed? When Jesus came there is now 5 in a house, and son will hate the father and father the son, mother in law will hate the daughter in law and daughter in law will hate the mother in law? All this language about a betrothed, a daughter in law who hates the mother in law is what is taking place inside a person who becomes betrothed to Christ, and one has to hate his father, and his father will hate him. This person seeks a new marriage, a new family in God the father.
There are 7 feasts of Christ that teach a person how to die, and even how to be born again as a new child from a new betrothal and these things are hard to understand.
Looking at Passover is to die daily and you are trying to go all the way to a symbolic death, you go from the man who would be king to a submissive virgin who has become betrothed and you become a new person and Eve will hate you. You are betrothed never having known your Husband{THE NEW ADAM} but somehow a seed has been planted within you and there is a new birth, a living child within you whom you shall carry throughout your life, and you have been made keeper over the household of God to give his child meat in due season as a servant should.
We make a claim that Jesus is our betrothed, and he is within us as a marriage, and THIS IS THE NEW ADAM.
What does this say of the old Adam and the need for a new one?
Why do we need a new Adam?
I am just saying that there is much more to the story than most think, and when we look at one single day within the 6 days of creation, it is showing a 24 hour period as years.
Adam had to name every single creature, and this alone would have taken decades. Then he tilled the garden and began harvesting and harvest don't grow in a couple hours, but Adam remained in the garden keeping it and harvesting until God looked down on him and decided to put him in a sleep of death in order to take a bride from his side after this death, and Adam became a guiding spirit within his bride just as Jesus is a guiding spirit inside his bride.
The overcomers have this same promise, that if they overcome, they will rule on the nations and all the peoples but this is done from within people as Jesus is within all people and he does not share the rule.
So Genesis is showing Adam naming every living thing, then he is tilling and harvesting and then lain down in a sleep of death and a bride born all in a 24 hour period.
It is esoteric.
