The best way is not to beat it into submission, but quiet words, a loving touch, something sweet, taking care of any wounds it may have gotten, until it recognizes that you care for it and it willingly follows you. Then you add a light burden, gaining it's trust, then a heavier one, utilizing all of the first steps at the same time. Pretty soon, you have a relationship built on trust because the creature knows you care for it already and any fears it has it will overcome quickly.
The role of the spirit of the husbandman is not different in how you woo the soul of another, whether it be in a male body or a female body. What do you think the white horse (cleansed redeemed soul) is He returns through? It says we are His horse in the battle. He wants a submissive horse that will turn on a dime out of love, not out of fear. Don't we all?
Or you can just jump on it's back, and beat the hell out of it until it's spirit is broken, deprive it of basic needs as "punishment" and it walks with you out of fear of retribution. Peace

The poster was specifically comparing women (and taming them) to horses, and in an incredibly condescending way.
Yeah, I didn't agree with what she said, and still the bible shows men as horses, as oxen, as eagles, as doves, as wolves, ect.
