So, any feedback on Risen from anyone? Entertaining? Thought provoking?

The reviews I've read suggest it's a good movie that mostly got things correct. I plan on renting it when it goes to DVD. Our closest theater is an hour away and we just don't go to movies.

Our church rented out a theater to have movie night. I did not plan on going until my wife said she got tickets, which was unexpected. So I guess I am going this weekend.

I don't think these movies are something God prefers we do. His Word is sufficient.

I'm interested because I like Ralph fienes and cliff Curtis. If they embellish, it won't bother me. I watch movies for entertainment. The trailers looked very interesting... But this also from the guy who downloads trailer music! (Like sharks don't sleep that plays during the marvel civil war trailer)

Only reason I haven't seen it yet is I've been so busy since it opened.

In the trailer which I only watched , Jesus Holy Spirit quickened `fiction `...So I looked up the scriptures and the body of Jesus was released for burial by Pilate for he was dead for a while , and Romans were not interested after that from Mark 15:44........In Matthew 27 ...Pilate made sure the tomb was sealed , but no investigation into the missing body of Jesus ....Even in the gospels of Luke and John there is no investigation into the missing body of Jesus by the Romans ....... only a few comments by the Jewish authority from Matthew 28 accusing the disciples of stealing the body

Aren't the movies similar to the inspired word? Wouldn't God guide the director and producer to create a film that is as infallible as the book?

I don't thank God's too invested in Hollywood. Ones relationship with God should be fostered individually, not through tv. Not saying stimulus can't be a spark ...

That's my 2 cents anyway

I try not to limit the venues by which the Spirit can operate........not that it would do any good.
