Therefore, using the NASB translation Hebrews 11:7 reads as,
Heb. 11:7 By faith(Pistei) Noah, being warned by God about things not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of the righteousness which is according to (kata) faith.
And so, Noah's righteousness was 'by faith' and 'according to' or 'in keeping with' faith. Both are used in the verse.

The righteousness of Christ is credited to those who place their faith in Him.

I did some further checking of some sources, and I may have been wrong in my interpretation of what Hebrews 11:7 was saying. While it is true that we are justified by means of being credited with the righteousness of Christ when we believe on Christ, that may not in fact be what is being discussed in Hebrews 11:7. And so, I withdraw my previous statements on the matter.

Thank you Mike555. That is the kind of gracious statement that gives me hope in a forum like this.

By God's grace the Holy Spirit makes the gospel message understandable to the unbeliever and makes the faith of the person who believes the gospel message effective for salvation. God's grace is present in the life of the believer. Even when the believer is under divine discipline, that discipline is done in grace. And there is dying grace for the spiritually mature believer facing death so that he can have peace and confidence while dying.

The believer is exhorted to come boldly to the throne of grace so that he may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16).
Amen Mike. I couldn't have said it better.
