No thanks. I have no desire to watch a depiction of Jesus' last hours portrayed in a musical set in modern day New Orleans. Neither the passion of Jesus or the life of Jesus need to be, or ought to be modernized and adapted to our culture and time. Jesus came into the world two thousand years ago at the right time in human history in accordance with the Father's will, and to the culture and people of Judea at that time, and that's how any story of the life of Jesus should be depicted.

This production is blasphemous. It reminds me of that idiotic movie, 'Jesus Christ Superstar.'

'Ben Hur' will be on at the same time on TCM. I'll be watching that instead.

If this production reaches the lost where people can be converted to Jesus then all the Glory to the Lord ..............See Jesus needs to be in the media spotlight in a positive way , as the truth of the death and resurrection of Jesus needs to be heard and understood , as evil hates God and Jesus is the door to God by this judgment by God of the cross of Christ

Believe it or not, I've never seen Ben Hur. I might have to tune in for that.

This makes me cringe.
Trisha Yearwood as Mary ?

How any sincere believer with any sense of the sacred
could participate in, or watch something like this is
beyond my ability to assess.

I do know that the people who own these networks
are not to be trusted, especially at this time of year
when they always seem to roll out some new form
of "christploitation".

Tyler Perry is always good. Most of his movies have a Christian back story to them if even just a little. I like him. Not sure what this is all about but I think it's mostly telling the Passion story with music thrown in.
