Very true. Your opinion matters less that you think, especially when you talk about posters rather than the topic.

Did I miss the part where he said his opinions were that of the one true God?

You are king of that, can you quote where Jerwade has done this ?. How is it whenever you beliefs are questioned you have to resort to such stuff ?. It generally means you do not have an answer.

Yes we know, you speak for the bible, so what you say matters. How about all the other people who speak for the bible that interpret differently to you, does their opinion matter less than they think too?

well Finny, you ignored his intent, which was not trying to be personal--in fact, trying not to be personal--in order to fund the occasion for a personal put-down? At least that is how that is read.

Default What pleases me most

NOTHING gives me greater pleasure than to guide people to the reasons why I see an infinitely different God in the Bible than the one I was taught in the several different eternal punishment churches I attended during years gone by and in the Bible school from which I graduated. I’m 78 years old.

Problem is that Universalism church is part of the fallen churches which Jesus Christ did not author , and all people who did not repent to Jesus and have not received His spirit may not even be saved and would be in the error of being lost to God despite these man made doctrines of Universalism that sound great to people with itchy ears which have watered down the justice of the Creator God ..............................See all the people of the earth have fallen short and all lost to God and they have sinned and this is alien to the Goodness of God and to be in unity with God as No sin abides in God , so God did send His son Jesus to be born in the earth and then to be killed by these people of sin who have been influenced by the spirit of the world the devil and his hoards , so by the sin of envy Jesus a innocent man which is the son of God was killed , where God raised Him up from the dead to become a judgement for God , where ` who ever sides with Jesus and resist sin the devil works and follows Jesus will be saved ``..................... is God justice for the eternal damnation all people will receive where now people can receive liberty from this and now eternal life `` ............................. So if universalism does not believe in the justice of Creator God through Jesus because they think that God is not sovereign King with no justice and is to good to judge people where Jesus is to be put out and watered down for the ethics of man ideas now , BUT where God does not changed and the author ship of Jesus is indeed true, and no one goes to the Father God but through Jesus the redeemer , where God does not stand before men who are not cleansed of sin

Post God's justice

Greek scholar William Barclay wrote concerning kolasis aionion (age-during corrective chastisement) in Matthew 25:46
"The Greek word for punishment is kolasis, which was not originally an ethical word at all. It originally meant the pruning of trees to make them grow better. There is no instance in Greek secular literature where kolasis does not mean remedial punishment. It is a simple fact that in Greek kolasis always means remedial punishment. God's punishment is always for man's cure."
See what other Greek scholars say about it too.
AN ANALYTICAL STUDY OF WORDS – Louis Abbott
Chapter Eleven
Fifteen literally translated (not interpretively translated) Bibles that reveal what God will do with the sinners in Matthew 25:46
Concordant Literal, Young’s literal, Wilson’s Emphatic Diaglott, Rotherham’s Emphasized, Scarlett’s, J.W. Hanson’s New Covenant, Twentieth Century, Ferrar Fenton, The Western New Testament, Weymouth’s (unedited), Clementson’s, The New Testament of our Lord and Savior Jesus Anointed, The Restoration of Original Sacred Name Bible, Bullinger’s Companion Bible margins, Jonathan Mitchell’s translation (2010).

Regarding the meaning of aionios, many Greek scholars agree with John Wesley Hanson.
AIÓN – AIÓNIOS
AIN -- AINIOS
Dean Hough wrote “The definition given in THE VOCABULARY OF THE GREEK TESTAMENT (edited by James Hope Moulton and George Milligan) is helpful. Concerning aionios we read, “In general, the word depicts that of which the horizon is not in view . . .” (p.16). If the horizon of the extermination spoken of by Paul in 2 Thessalonians 1:9 is simply not in view, then we can see that what Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:22 can truly occur. The same all who are dying in Adam, which includes some who incur eonian extermination, can indeed eventually be vivified in Christ.
The Bible, in fact, does not speak of judgment and condemnation, death and destruction, hades and Gehenna, or any of these serious consequences of sin, as unending. It may refer to them as not having the end in view, but none of these fearful works of God can keep Him from achieving His will (1Tim.2:4); reconciling all through the blood of Christ’s cross (Col.1:20, and becoming All in all (1 Cor.15:28).”
Dean Hough

Did God himself reveal this to you, or was it simply what you were told and taught to believe by others?

Also, some of the statements you made are false. I believe God is completely sovereign. In fact, no one can understand God's secrets unless He chooses to reveal them to that person. We are completely at his mercy to open the eyes of our spiritual understanding. I do not condemn you, but I would say your spiritual eyes are not opened. Perhaps you didn't ask him to open your eyes. Perhaps you only thought you could already see because you agreed with something a man taught you and not something directly revealed to you from the Father in heaven.
