...is it possible to stop loving someone?

My answer to this would be no based on scripture.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

I've been through many relationships and have had many bad things happen to me over the years, but despite it all I haven't stopped loving. My heart cannot stop loving, as I have entrusted it with my creator who is fully Loving. When you give God your heart, there's nothing in the world that can phase you even the reality of death.

Even when tempted to do the wrong thing, Love within my heart overcomes it. My mind may act against me, but Love for God and love for my fellow man still overcomes that as well. Truly the greatest thing in existence that God has shared with us is his Love, without it - there really would be no desire for any of us to go on living.

In Christ,

Stephen

When we have the Holy Spirit within us we put Goid first and foremost in our lives. We don't think of just ourselves but others, our hearts are convicted and therefore we take the burden for others we love and care for. Love will never fail us as long as we have God in our life and want what is best through our Lord and Saviour.

Jesus loved unconditionally. He loved Judas.. He loved the soldiers putting Him on the cross.. He loved to gather with the "publicans and sinners".

The harshest words He had were for hypocrites, who had the form, but no love.

John 13:35 " Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples". Love is an attitude that reveals itself in action.

Thanks. Love is as strong as death. So why fear death? To be honest we should only fear the absence of Love. Love is the greatest of all things listed in the bible. And is described as being the very fire of the Lord. It's what keeps us going, gives us the fire to live - the will to want to help others as well as have a relationship with our creator. As you've stated above, everything in this life becomes meaningless without Love.

In Christ,

Stephen

We're all hypocrites. Which is why the bible itself states "we were his enemies." To continue to Love while surrounded by nothing but enemies, says a lot about of person. To continue to Love, despite knowing that you are hated, being mocked, being ridiculed, overtly and subtly by others - without having a sense of bitterness, shows a tremendous amount of Love.

I think in the end, God's Love is demonstrative of people truly rejecting him, rather than the other way around. Those who can't see the fullness of God's Love, really are truly denyng him - and all that he went through.

In Christ,

Stephen

Your right there is no fear in love, and that includes death or torture or the cross.
Yet love conquers death, so death can not be as strong as love.
Love overcame death in Lazarus and all the others raised from the grave at Christ's ressurection, and when the Apostle's raised the dead.

godspeed,

freedom

Love reveals itself through action, heart, words, and character. It's not just about you do this, or you do that - or how much you do - it's about the Spirit in which you do it. The spirit is what's important, not what you do. When the woman who had nothing to give but a few coins into the basket before Christ, Her love was worth more than any large gift or tithe any of the Pharisees had given.

Loving God is the most important thing in our walk, if we don't Love him - we'll have no ability to love others.
