Notice in the OP it has this verse;

Ezekiel 14:14 NIV

14 even if these three men—Noah, Daniel and Job—were in it, they could save only themselves by their righteousness, declares the Sovereign LORD.

Notice it says they would save themselves by their righteousness.

Bingo!...It means a 180 degree change of mind regarding sin...IOW, stop sinning...Choose the right and reject the bad...Something your savior had to learn to do....

Hey...Look at that...Another correct answer on what repentance signifies in Jewish thought...

Which goes along with what G-d said, no one can die for another's sin, each shall die for one's own sins...

Christ died for my sins, and the sins of the whole world.

Right on little elmer!

I was playing guitar in a church band last week and the minister told the congregation "Christ died for everyone's sins and if you don't believe that, you can go to hell."

I thought, well that would be like me saying "If you don't believe God is going to save all mankind then you are going to hell." It is so farcical.

Or it is like saying: I paid off your $50,000.00 mortage and if you don't believe it you will lose your house to the bank.

That is only the case in certain circumstances. For instance, David's son was killed because of David's sin. And 70,000 Israelites were killed because David numbered Israel.

Parents are not to be put to death for the sins of their children according to Hebrew law. It doesn't say the Saviour of the world is not allowed to die for the sins of the world.

It is not talking about saving themselves for life in the coming eons but but delivering their own soul from destruction in the land:

Ezekiel 14:13-14 `Son of man, the land--when it sins against Me to commit a trespass, and I have stretched out My hand against it, and broken for it the staff of bread, and sent into it famine, and cut off from it man and beast--" (14) and these three men have been in its midst, Noah, Daniel, and Job--they by their righteousness deliver their own soul--an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh."
