------ Context --------------------
Question:
they asked him (Jesus), “What must we do to do the works God requires?”

Answer:
Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

-----------------------------------------------------------

Jesus did not answer by saying all these alternatives:
Serving God in spirit and truth.

Read the scriptures: Job 1:1, Ezekiel 14:14

"The man who believes in me me shall do the works I do."

"By your words you'll be justified and by your words you'll be condemned."
"Be holy for I am holy."

Whoever "acts" out of LOVE, understands from where the light comes, and proves to whom they belong.

"Anyone who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is truthful and there is no unrighteousness in him."

"Let the man who has my words speak my words and speak the truth," says the Lord

"Speak the truth to one another, judge righteously and let honesty and peace be at your gates."

"Whoever believes in me shall do the works I do and far greater than these."

One must have eternal life in order to do the works. But that is confusion to those who hate the light.
Conclusion: "believe in" ~ Jesus aka faith alone

Romans 4:3 What does Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness."

Imputed righteousness. Case closed.

If you're depending on your own righteousness to save you, you're wrong.
Yes...Abraham's own actions of belief made him righteous...So, who was it imputed from?...

Belief is not an action. He believed. That's it. He was righteous because of belief. He trusted God --and it resulted in his actions.

Don't put the cart before the horse.

Sadly, I'm not sure YOU really know what the Judaism of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are. I'm quite sure you know of the Judaism of today...but I don't think they're the same.

Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the Lord.

2 And the Lord said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

3 And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.

4 And Satan answered the Lord, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.

5 But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face.

6 And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.

7 So went Satan forth from the presence of the Lord, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.

In Judaism Satan is the adversary. He is called the adversary because he is against all. He is anti-all.
