The melody of the song `story book love` was probably under contract with Eric Clapton , as it is exact song with different lyrics ...So legal plagiarism of copying the melody never happened ..............Eric Clapton and Mark Knopfler played a tour together in 1988 for Eric 25th Anniversary tour , so maybe the payout for Eric was I`ll give Mark Knopfler this song in 1987 If you tour with me in 1988 as friends Work together
