My Baptist Church that behaves like evangelical lol is a great church with just about all the elements a christian would need in their walk . The pastors are laid back country folk and articulate scripture
extremely well. Not even being picky or religiously contrary we don't seek confrontation of dogmas we occasionally question BUT a void does exist if you expect the church you attend has a FAR MORE
knowledge of end-times preparation or at the very least either an interest or awareness albeit an
action plan than we lay believers? . NOTHING!! NOTTA ! CLUELESS and IGNORANT to a point of secular complacancy!! Here are a few expert real christians teaching end-times "preparation" :

Rick Joyner ( Morningstar / Heritage Intl.
William Forsthen ( Prof. Montreat College, "One Second After")
Paul Williams ( Physicians Without Walls " When All Plans Fail")
Lt. General ( ret.) Jerry Boykin
Jonathan Cahn ( messianic Rabbi)
Micheal Snyder
Joel Richardson
Jim Bakker ( Moringside Mo. /Prepper Ministry )
Carl Gallop ( Baptist , FL. )
David Jerimiah
Irvine Baxter
Greg Laurie
Tim LaHaye

Prediction : The church ( believers) will become extremely disappointed in their absentee pastors on the end-times subject if not severly angry
IF the times of sorrow hits us like broadsidedness predicted soon. The physical church could have been a refuge missed via a
mix of arrogant phiosophies and ignorance.

You're correct mike. Every Christian should study endtime prophecy, so that we are prepared.

“Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near.”
**Revelation‬ *1:3‬ *

See also Matthew 24, where Jesus tells us what to look for.

The only problem with your post is that those words were written to Christian churches 1900 years ago .

...and how many of those guys are making a literalist interpretation of it all? Most of them!?

The reality will be that life carries on as we change from one epoch to the next, but the new shoots of the millenium will begin to be seen.

I would recommend not following populist preachers on these matters - it is the followers that keep the largeness of their ministries afloat - hence followers are the last thing they need. God deals one to one by His Spirit.

The two online sources I suggest that are available and would start a person looking in the right place are Livelystone's (Douglas Duncan) book Modern Day Prophet and J Preston Eby's website Kingdom Ministries.

The betrayal you feel is because most church leadership don't want to wrestle, much less teach the truth about things like the erroneous 'second coming', rapture and eternal torment, etc. because they've built and sustain Ministries and incomes on such lies, and the dissent they would have if they changed the story would be the end of their little tea parties (...I don't know what a hard core tea party is in the US political sense - I'm British, but it just occurred to me to use it, ). The problem is it's all going unsaid in churches because spirits of control and religion are on the throne, and anyone who does say anything is ostracised as someone deceived - ask me how I know. The reality is therefore that God is calling folks out of religion and church system, to hear from Him, and demonstrate being a believer in the new epoch. I'm not there yet myself, but I know it's not what we've had - which is rapidly becoming the old wineskins.

The sooner it happens the better.

P.S.if times of sorrow hit you, and you feel broadsided, and go running to your Pastor to tell him what a lousy so and so He is: (a) Is that where and who God would have you run to, to say what you would say, and (b) can you perceive now, that this might be the shaking God promises He will bring.

Do your own prepping. Get into the truth, and calamity will largely not have to come to your door, much less to the door of your heart.

Most non flesh prophecy from the Lord is there to enhance faith for the end time as God requires that His children teach end times and have faith for end times , Just like Apostle Paul had , just we should have today , but feeding into the anger and ought against leaders who may be complacent in the faith , will only attract the wrong spirit of this world ....... So is end time coming? , well look at the energy problem and the rise of climate change authority and it sure is there, as this is the end of the industrial revolution , which is a sign of end times

Dear zth,
You sound like the men of Noah's time, who ate drank and were merry before the rain, hail, and wind took them by surprise.

Matthew 24:38
For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,

Dear mike,
You could always join the RLDS church. Not that they are not among the daughters of Babylon, but they seem to spend a lot of effort on survival preparation. Not that that is the Preparation required with respect to the Preparation Day of Passover. The church not built on heeding the testimony of Yeshua, is already slated to "fall" when the rain, wind and hail come. (Mt 7:27) Isaiah 3:12 said it best, "those who guide you lead you astray".
