No, the former fundamentalist progressive christian says, "Thank you Lord for saving me from the ugly life of conservative christians."

And he accepts the Lord's instruction to do battle with them using the Truth of Jesus Christ's life and words.

Have you found any progressive christian who has written a book about escaping into fundamentalism?

I'll give you a few of those who went the other direction:

Confessions of a Bible Thumper, by Michael Camp
The Cross in the Closet, by Timothy Kurek (an evangelical poses as homosexual for a year--demeaned and despised by those who used to be his "friends.")
Escaping from Fundamentalism, by James Barr (it points out that fundamentalism is a bondage to 'the law' and is the opposite of reformation principles)
Girl at the End of the World: My Escape from Fundamentalism in Search of Faith with a Future, by Elizabeth Esther
Escape from Christian Fundamentalism--the Kids Who Flee Abusive, Isolated Christian Homes (an article), by Kathryn Joyce (Escape from Christian Fundamentalism - the Kids Who Flee Abusive, Isolated Christian Homes | Alternet)
Escaping Fundamentalism (an article) by John Beckett -- Escaping Fundamentalism

And finally, from a gay young man (when he wrote this) who was a fundamentalist until he saw the sick message of fundamentalism:
Quote:
I'm Not a Fundamentalist Any More

I don't agree that straight is great but gay is not okay.
I don't agree with preachers who say we should go away.
I'm not the evil monster they see clawing at their door,
I'm just not a fundamentalist any more.

They claim they have the truth and proof that I'm a heretic.
They say they know theology and so I must be thick.
Experiences I've been through they conveniently ignore,
So I'm not a fundamentalist any more.

I'm told I must be sad or bad, illogical or mad,
A mis-er-able liberal who's going through a fad,
A patronising humanist with morals on the floor,
So I'm not a fundamentalist any more.

Now I don't mind if people need to read a book of rules,
Treating God's abundant love like punishments at school,
But I take exception when at me they aim their law,
So I'm not a fundamentalist any more.

John Pendal Escape from Fundamentalism

The action is in the words of those who promote themselves as "agape love machines", while smearing Christians as hateful bigots. It is not a fantasy, since it is all over this forum every day.

Such smear campaign prove their talk about love is Pharisee-talk, nothing but hypocritical self promotion.

Sodom and Gomorrah's sins weren't merely inhospitality, as Bible haters suggest.

"Perhaps the most common Scripture-twisting done by the homosexualist movement is pretending that the sin of Sodom was inhospitality, rather than homosexuality. Even a cursory review of the text of Genesis 19 and related texts, however, reveals clearly that Sodom’s principal sin had to be aberrosexual in nature. Genesis 19, ironically, provides perhaps the most exuberantly over-the-top illustration of hospitality in all of literature. Nobody was a better host than Lot."

Sodom’s Sin was Sodomy, not Inhospitality

You are welcome, but since you think I am the one promoting myself as agape love machine, it is clear the whole thing went a mile over your head.

It is not only good enough to avoid adultery or sodomy or lesbianism
in reality, but also in our hearts and minds, so that we do not condone
these evils, and also turn our eyes away from their portrayals in pornography.

You never had to promote yourself Finn, you big hunk of agape love, you.

I simply brought life to your tired old fantasy about what others pray. I added muscle, skin and cleavage.
Your words were a gift.
