Are the typical middle-American Lutherans "evangelical" or dedicated to proselytizing, or do they pretty much keep it to themselves?

I'm just not very familiar with the denomination and was wondering about this.

Christians are to be evangelical and so are encouraged to not keep it to themselves per Jesus' command: Matthew 28:19.

Keep it to themselves depends on what is meant by "pretty much keep it to themselves".

Anybody want to take a shot at it, per as it was actually asked, regarding a specific denomination?

Being a life long Lutheran, I can say that we are very reserved. We tend to act out our faith with actions rather than words.

In my experience, they keep to themselves, as you would say. They are not very out-going in their faith.

Being a life long Lutheran, I did because I know of many who are not.

Depends on the sub-denomination. More liberal Lutherans (like in the ELCA) are generally less evangelical than the conservative denominations (LCMS, WELS).
