I buy most of what I need online, and when I do have to go out, I never go too far from home, because I may have to get back here quickly. But it would be nice to be able to get out into the world more fully. I live in Anderson Indiana. I would love to take a day trip to Indianapolis, I haven't been there in years. But I can't. I'm wondering if you think that's fair to me? As a Christian, I refuse to break the law, even if my health is at risk. And I will not use a men's room, because I am not a man.

Your physiology should be the determining factor, not your dress or inclinations. Like many problems until it is fixed one way or another you have to adjust. Fun, no, painful at times, yes, but it is like a quadriplegic who wants to go for a walk at the beach. They can't. You have serious enough problems that you do not need to aggravate it. Dress to match your physical appearance genetically, not the mental view you may have and the problems will be .... minimal. Again fun, no, but realistically it is the best choice for now.
You would love being downtown in Indy, I have been there many times and used to live in IN.
Just as you do certain things for your medical condition to relieve the pressure, do so for the use of a restroom. If you look like you belong no one will care, if not ...................
As much of a sweetheart as he is, I promise you you don't want this guy in the bathroom with your wife. One reason is because he would probably start a laugh riot in there, and y'all think we take too long in there as it is :-p Another...well, it's a guy. He's a transman. With the laws as written, he can't use the men's room, So if in public, with the law as written in most states, he would be forced to use the women's room. I love the guy, but I don't love him enough want him in the bathroom with me.
If your legal status is a female, you use the female restroom. If she wants to change into a man, you should have to amend your driver's license or some form of ID. I will never agree with open season on which restroom you want to use.
Heck - just don't build any bathrooms into your structure and make everyone go outside in the genderless port-a-potty.

I'm female, I pass very well, or so I'm told. I see a monster in the mirror most days, but that's just kind of a body image issue. I've been told I'm pretty by a few people.

I know, right? Thank you Dew. That kind of thing rarely bothers me anymore. I'd laugh if it weren't so sad. Because even though it really doesn't bother me, someone else coming up behind me, another LGBTQ person, may see that kind of thing, and may not be strong enough to handle it gracefully yet. To them I say "ignore that noise, just be you."
