Yes, I understand that's the view of a fundamentalist because it takes the light of them and onto them they judge so easily. The only ones hating the light like Mr Jarber likes us to believe..... Are they who think the scriptures are talking to anyone other than themselves, you fall into that category with your response above.

For everything that was written in the past was written to teach US......so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.
I do not want the pity if God, that is reserved for those( the blind who lead the blind)who think others need pity. I do not care how much that you claim to believe the scriptures(you don't as far as I am concerned), it does not impress me neither does it impress our father in heaven.

Unlike your theology which puts you at the center, it is not like that for Christianity.
It doesn't personally help me that much, other than knowing I am a Gentile. It helps put some of the events and dispensations in its proper context.
The scriptures were written to teach us. You think there is something of worth putting events and dispensations in proper context . Lol

Camps killing the sacred cow of bible fundamentalism but refuses to eat it.
I think it has more to do with people outside the Jewish community being a new potential source of income.
Ah, well... I see it as more a (rather ludicrous) transitional event written by "Luke" to get from an observing Jew (aside that Jesus had already declared all foods clean and he had received the Holy spirit already - several times) to the Peter that stands up in council and defends Paul's mission. And never mind that Paul himself writes of ongoing wrangles with Peter about Jews eating with gentiles - or not.
But I have noted that Luke seems to be very interested in money.

How does that relate to killing and eating the same thing? Sorry, but that is really weak.

Very interesting thread and good expositions, everyone.

What makes you say so? Is not the Gospel preached to the Jew first, and also to the Greek?
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
The verse is PRIMARILY a metaphor, but secondarily, it was taken to be meant that gentile Christians didn't have to follow Jewish dietary law.
How do you get that from that verse?...That vision had nothing to do with the dietary laws...It had to do with the acceptance of the Gentiles into the Jewish cold...It was a metaphoric dream...
