Jesus said that Elijah would come and restore everything then later says the Holy Spirit would instruct in everything. So Elijah is the Holy Spirit and restores the word of God.

Elijah only comes to gentiles, Elijah comes when God has given you power in two separate places of your being and you become Elijah, but Elijah must go all the way to death in order to become a new creature. Elijah failed and another man had to be appointed to finish what he started. God told Elijah that he wasn't in Elijah's fire, not in his Earthquake and not in his wind. Elijah went around doing things by faith that God wasn't in.

You need to read a little more preceding that verse to understand who the Elijah to come was.
Matthew 11:13-14 13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. 14 And if ye will receive it, this is Elias (Elijah) , which was for to come.

Correct if you are willing to accept it. But He is to come and restore everything which John did not. So there is another to come or he is here and only those who accept him and his word can see him.

The G-d of the earth (as in HE is G-d of heaven AND earth = El Yon) who is apportioned in earth, wind, fire and water (in this realm only as TYPES), was not in them, as in not appearing to Elijah in, the 3 of the 4, because He wanted to push Him to look up (as in the lifter of his head that opens the Door) because He wanted to catch Him up to the heavenly waters = the waters above the firmament, which is what happened.
Because the principle is, we are changed by beholding Him from glory (terrestrial) to glory (celestial), and Elijah was used to signify those that die without going the way of the grave, like Moses was = mortality swallowed up of immortality, the superior resurrection Paul talked about. Peace

Elijah was there to symbolize complete failure........When things will be as they should be, then the spirit of Elijah needs to be taken out of the way and this is a hard thing because of the vanity of the spirit of Elijah.
Nobody wants to stop being the vain prophet who would rather call judgment down than to try and save them. Another man was appointed to do just that, to build a place to dwell amongst the gentile sons of the prophets where he would live with them in order to teach them. The school of Elisha.

Malachi prophesied that Elijah would appear - Malachi 4:5-6.
The Jews were in expectation of Elijah's coming to fulfill that prophecy - Matthew 17:10
Some people wrongly thought Jesus was Elijah - Matthew 16:14-16
John the Baptizer denied that he was Elijah in person - 2 Kings 1:18; Matthew 3:4; John 1:21
The angel did Not tell John's father that John would be Elijah, but that John would have Elijah's 'spirit and power'.
His 'spirit and power' was to make the people ready - Luke 1:17
Jesus knew John did that work, but it was Not recognized by the Jews - Matthew 17:11-13
It was after John died that the transfiguration vision took place - Mark 9:1-8
That vision - Matthew 17:9, indicated that there was something more to happen as represented by the work Elijah did.

Elijah already came in the form of John The Baptist while the Holy Spirit is the third part of the God head who enters the hearts of true believers and reveals the proper interpretation of the word of God as well as verifies the true word and false word. Elijah is also believed to be one of the two witnesses of the end times.

Which makes no sense to me since he was present on the mount with Yeshua. Can't help it; it just does not compute, lol....Peace
