I have somewhat the same feelings. That there are too many uneducated, self proclaimed preachers in evangelical Protestantism who are fanatics on a power trip, and can't make living any other way.

we all agree that some people have bad starts. We all agree its our duty to help. We agree we have to recognize our duty. I, as an atheist, feel that we only have each other so its my duty to help. I Take that so seriously that I went in to a service field to help. i quit working for people that made 20 million a year and gave very little back.
when is it time for the people we are helping to step up? The numbers are not adding up. We are passing some serous fatal flaws in the efforts to stop the cycles to our kids. The poor's kids and our kids.
I gladly pay 20% taxes plus taxes on goods and services. And I am in a service field. When is it time to say that's enough. When do we say if we can't afford to pay we can't afford to pay.

There is nothing wrong with the police. Most police officers are reasonable people. They are just following orders.
But they are there to protect a certain class of people. That is where the problems originate. The real problem is with the upstanding citizens who demand their service, and who would like to maintain their privileged status.

I've already explained that we need to tax the wealthy. They have not earned what they have.
(I don't want to take another dime from the middle class.)
We also need to drastically increase the minimum wage, paying them what they deserve.
Both of these actions would improve every quality of our lives.
