In response to the direct message I received...
I would like to respond to a direct message that I received.
My point is not that all doctors are bad. I can't believe you understood my posts to mean that. If so, I do apologize.
But, the Kinsey Report is the first of many that started the so called "Sexual Revolution"... Freud as well, "the Father of Psychology" was a drug user... In college, in Psychology class... we had it on a multi choice test... "Who is the Father of Psychotherapy?"
I was trying to make the point that we now view sexuality differently because we have been influenced by the world.
We are in the world but not of the world.
Growing up in this period of history, we've all been influenced by the world's opinions... and those opinions have definitely been influenced by these people - in school, in the news, on television - and through the internet. Every day I have to delete unsolicited emails from my Spam Folder from masses of people obsessed with sexual issues - whether it's porn sites, or drugs for various things. You can't turn on the television without seeing commercials for various drugs for various things...
I personally believe that God's plan is that other things become more important to us as we mature. That is not what we're being sold.
I counseled a young man who had an addiction pornography and other related problems. Trust me. It's a compulsion.
Whatever overcomes a man, to that he is enslaved...
You might also like to check out a man named "David Kyle Foster" who has a ministry to homosexuals and others dealing with sexual addicitons.... He was a sex addict. He has a lot to say about masterbation.
I was not disagreeing with you. In fact, your last statement in your last post prior to my post says the same thing... if you know it's sin, it's sin to you.
I'm certain that if anyone asks God to show them Heart on this subject, that He will.
I think Curly the Cosmo has covered the rest of the subject very well.
God Bless You.

The Kinsey Report added much to the realm of knowledge pertaining to human sexuality.
Freud later revised his psychosexual theory of human development.
It was prior to his addiction to cocaine, if I'm not mistaken.

I'm very comfortable with my facts. I actually wrote a paper on Freud's "Psychology of Women" in college. Whether he was doing drugs or not at the time he wrote any particular thing, he had some very disturbing thoughts that have been adopted by way too many... I disagree that everything we think and every dream we have has a sexual meaning - and so much more that Freud taught.
As far as Kinsey goes, again I guess it just depends on your beliefs about the topic we're discussing. It is commonly known that many of Kinsey's subjects - as well as his own behavior - were questionable. He was raised in a Christian home and then chose to be an atheist to follow his desires.
Alfred Kinsey - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The fact that this is even a topic on a Christian forum says much about our culture.

Freud died in 1939. Kinsey died in 1956. These studies are outdated.

So are all people who are prescribed to take medicine, medicines are a drug too.
BTW is using drugs masturbation?
Or are you just suggesting that fantasizing about sex already is masturbation? I mean if you already believe that masturbation is a sin and thinking ‘improper’ thoughts are a sin too, you might as well say that they are one and the same.

I'm sure those who believe that masturbation is a sin are sure it is, since homosexuals cannot procreate when they have same gender sex.
So, is only enjoying sex a sin?
Or in other words:
Is it a sin to use a condom?

As a therapist I am not a "strict Freudian." However, (just for the record) I think one of the most common misconceptions regarding Freud is that "everything is sexual." Freud abandoned his psychosexual theory; in turn, he developed theory around the nature of the unconscious. (Id/ego/superego.)
Unfortunately, Kinsey drew back the curtain on American sexuality/culture such that it left many quite uncomfortable. So did Masters and Johnson.
I agree that the fact that this topic would show up on a Christianity subforum is rather interesting...We're all human beings.
Take gentle care.

I believe this thread was not a mistake....
God hears the heart and the cries of that heart! He will answer through many of ways to reach that one!
For those whomever, please know that God loves you and you are precious to Him!
Your not bad or awful!!! I do believe with all my heart that whatever one maybe struggling with Gods says, you are the apple of His eye. That He knew you when you were in your mother's womb. He created you there....
Please find someone to talk too. Ask God, He will bring that person into your life that will love you with His love.
I know because of my drinking He did this for me and He will do this for anyone!!! Regardless of what one may struggle with.
Blessings

Yes. Amen to this post, Curly. God is able and He knows all about us.
To everyone else who posted questions and responses to my posts,... I guess I feel that I've added enough to this thread. I do not want to discuss the merits of Freudian psychology... or of any study of human sexuality. I am solid in my convictions - as are you.
As someone who grew up in a home where there was every kind of abuse and pornography... I have personally experienced the pain suffered by the victims of sexual abuse. I've worked closely with adult Alcohol and Drug people and in the Juvenile jails.
My ministry is not about judgment but about freedom....
We are in the world but not of the world.
If anyone really wants to know how God feels about the subject of this thread, God will reveal His heart...
There is therefore now no condemnation... Romans 8:1
God Bless!
