Every person who has written in response to this forum, has in fact masturbated...and more than a dozen times. JUST FACE IT, this might be why everyone will inevitably fall short of the glory of God...the way he made us was imperfect, thus completing his plan for rehabilitation of the people that populate this planet. It is soooooooooo easy for the female gender to lightly and adequately enjoy the topic of this conversation, especially since the stigma of sexual habit is laden upon the male gender. The truth be known, and is well-known, that women enjoy it better than men! If a man sins from within his heart, the women sins from dressing and acting provactive. If masturbation is a sin, then selling your sexuality for advancement is a sin. Women begin their sales endevour at 12-13 years old, with the help of their mothers...Lipstick, make-up...find a rich man...yudda yudda yudda. Men are compulsive, and women are seductively engaging. However the differences between both genders, all have masturbated - more than once! (And they don't feel guilty either!)

Even though it isn't mentioned explicitly in the Bible, I believe masturbation is a sin if only because it requires lusting.
Not to offend anyone who's Roman Catholic, but I've always had a hard time accepting their interpretation of masturbation in the Bible. I believe the Catholic interpretation of Genesis 38:6-10 is that Onan masturbated and thus had to be put to death. Here we have Onan who refuses to carry out his duty to his brother and his family, essentially rapes his brother's wife, and the Catholic interpretation is that he did wrong because he "masturbated."
