Don't you think it's "odd" that Abraham given recognition as the father of our faith, had this one on one experience with G-d, and yet still was able to do what you consider "evil", and not "love"?
The "father of your faith" did some questionable things. He was human, and imperfect.
Quote:
Again, you're clearly willing to ignore the type that his sacrifice presented for all of us, because like or not it is a type of many things, including the resurrection. And if you recall, we are told that EVERYTHING that happened to them, was for our INSTRUCTION. Are you feeling instructed? I don't think so. Peace
I'm instructed ... if something is whispering, or shouting, in your mind that you should kill your child as a test of your allegiance and obedience, recognize that that something is WRONG, and you shouldn't do it.

Well thank G-d Abraham didn't feel that way, because without His faith, most of us wouldn't BE of faith of any kind, except maybe pagan. Peace

In the story, God stopped Abe. Unfortunately, it's just a story, and in reality, there are people who really did think God was telling them to kill their children, and they have done so. People can get so disconnected from their Source, from the God who is love, that they do unconscionably horrific things.

What demons do in mockery of G-d has no bearing on what G-d did. Of course He stopped him, He had a better sacrifice in mind from the foundation of the world. The ram, not Isaac, was representing the promised Seed, that is Spirit. Flesh profits nothing. Peace
The bible: [God speaking] "...They have built pagan shrines to Baal, and there they burn their sons as sacrifices to Baal. I have never commanded such a horrible deed; it never even crossed my mind to command such a thing!..."

And this is a perfect example of why God gave us a brain. Thank you.
As I said before there are plenty of ways to show your faith, or obedience if you will, to God...
like being kind to an arch enemy, giving all your wealth to the poor! That is what undoes the ego (or devil, if you must); the very thing keeping us in this separation
and away from what is Real.

And how would you determine the difference between God and demons, if you believe they would both command the exact same thing, Rbbi?
The bible: [God speaking] "...They have built pagan shrines to Baal, and there they burn their sons as sacrifices to Baal. I have never commanded such a horrible deed; it never even crossed my mind to command such a thing!..."
Can you give the Ch and verse please? Which version would be nice, also....for us nit-pickers.

No, He never commanded anyone to burn their sons as a sacrifice to Baal, that's true. But He DID tell Abraham to put his son on the altar.
Gal. 3:6-9 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. 7) Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. 8) And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. 9) So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
Wow, look at that bunch of scriptures you need to tear out of your bible, if you still have one left, that is. Peace
