There have always been calamities, but Jesus said "when ye shall see ALL these things know that it's near".
As far as natural disasters go, the times we are living in right now, are normal. It is quite easy to look back thru history and see other periods of time where things were the same or even worse.
Actually I would be more interested in why God has not sent any warnings, he destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah in dramatic fashion, it was something that could not be attributed to natural disaster, everyone knew who it was coming from and why, there was no doubt or questions about it. The fact that these things today can be attributed to a natural disaster, is probably a good indication, it is NOT from God, when he sends destruction, people KNOW its from him and WHY its being sent.
Plus, and this is a big one, the bible says he will come like a thief in the night, at a time when NO ONE expects it to happen, being there are so many people today that are truly convinced the end is near....well, that probably means its not. If the bible is true, it will happen at a time that does not fit the biblical predictions, in other words, it will happen when the end DOESNT look near.

Well, Jesus said:
Luke 21
25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
Luke 21
25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
Yes He did....the natural has no other choice but to bear witness of what is going on in the heavenly realms right now. Peace

What signs have there been in the sun and moon?
Hurricanes and other natural disasters are bad, but its not really on the level of mens hearts failing them due to the fear, plus weather is something thats here on the earth, Luke 26 says the fear will be due to things which are coming ON TO the earth, meaning they did not originate on earth. This sounds more like an asteroid strike, now that would cause peoples hearts to go out.
Do you live in the U.S.? August 21, 2017 - total solar eclipse. A few days later, Houston TX is decimated by hurricane Harvey. A week later hurricane Irma hammers many islands and Florida. Many states in the US are being set ablaze with wildlifes as we speak. Last week, an 8.1 earthquake rocks Mexico. This list doesn't even address the multitude of other calamities that have already come and gone recently.
You can be a doubter all you want, but it's all right there to see.

HURRICANE Harvey is a sign of the end of the world, according to a Christian author and preacher who says that there will be a ”birth of the new world”.
What we see or hear on the news today is in connection to Luke 21:11.
There is even describes they type of earthquakes that would be happening in our day as 'GREAT' earthquakes.
Jesus never taught that such disasters were from God, but that they would be happening before God would bring to ruin those ruining Earth according to Revelation 11:18 B.
So, what we are seeing ( the ride of a lifetime ) is the 'coming end of the world of badness on Earth ' before Jesus, as Prince of Peace, ushers in global Peace on Earth among people of goodwill. Under Christ's millennium-long day of governing over Earth, starting with calendar Day One of his 1,000-year reign will be the start or birth of the new world of righteousness of 2nd Peter 3:13.
Why didn't god kill Satan during the flood?
Problems solved.
If Satan was killed at the time of the Flood we would Not be here. We never would have been born.
God's purpose is that we all be descendants of father Adam and mother Eve.
By allowing A&E to have children that gives all of us the opportunity to be born and think who we would like as Sovereign over us.
Satan challenges all of us (Job 2:4-5) ' touch our flesh ' (loose physical health) and we would Not serve God.
We would have to be here to make that choice thus showing Satan he is either right or wrong.
The problem will be solved because Satan does have a marked period of time as per Revelation 12:9,12.
Then, Jesus will destroy Satan according to Hebrews 2:14 B.
