Answer: Nisan 13 was Preparation day for the Passover.

Jesus was crucified beginning around 10am and at around 2pm came the darkness set in until the 9th hour (around 6pm). At this time started 14 Nisan (Jesus dies on the cross). Per Jewish law, Jesus could not remain on the cross through the night and Joseph request His body when the evening had come. Jesus is entombed that night (which can't count towards the sign of Jonah).

A Blood moon is recorded this night (April 25th, AD 31 Wednesday night - Gregorian). See NASA Archives that records this lunar eclipse.

Jesus would remain in the tomb until dawn arises on Sunday the first day of the week. At this point He has completed 3 days and 3 nights in the tomb which is the sign He gave of Jonah being in the belly of the Great Fish.

The dawning of Sunday would have been, according to the Lunar calendar, Saturday after sunset...

Not sure I follow? Are you asking if this would pertain the night or day counts of Jonah's sign? If so, one would have to remember, that the Solar event (darkness) that occurred happened BEFORE Jesus died and was entombed. And remember this sign was to given to the evil ones. Jesus was to be in the heart of the Earth for 3 days and 3 nights. He didn't die until around 6pm and His body was not put into the tomb until that evening (and hence 14 Nisan) had come.

How does 21st century people determine the time of day over 2000 years ago?

And, just as the day of His birth or conception, what does it matter? Are we not seeking to make his birth ans death into idols?

In the past society has instituted LAWS regulating and limiting what could be done on certain days. I am old enough to remeber the old "blue" laws that forced all stores, except a few essentials like gas stations to close on Sundays in observance of church.

Establishing acceptable dates for His birth and death will eventually lead to the same type of prohibitions / laws being forced onto society again.

We determine the date by the events recorded in the Bible. Also by other events. For example, the lunar eclipse records. Additionally, when Jesus was crucified the constellation Gemini contained Mars, Saturn, and Venus. Why is that significant - because it gives credibility to the events. Since Gemini used to be pictured as Adam and Eve and meant "Marriage" and during the Passover, we have a marriage/union where Jesus is giving His flesh and blood to His Disciples whom are effectively the Bride.

We are not worshiping these events but using these events as markers to find other dates. We know that the year of Jesus's Death would be a Jubilee. It also falls 30 Jubilees from the Exodus, which would be another Jubilee. Jesus commands us to watch in the scriptures and to do that effectively we need to know as much as we can.

You do know that night was a 12 hour period and day was a 12 hour period, don't you?...
