Finish the passages.

[17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
[18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
[19] And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
[20] For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
[21] But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. - Jesus

The belief that Jesus is speaking of is not mere lip service. Belief is a verb.

That is true. So, without works (fruit), the tree is cut down and cast into the fire.

No. That is what you have been taught but Jesus taught believing is doing the works of God. Just as He taught that loving the Father was doing what God commanded.

That is why Christianity fails because they do not believe. Like Jesus said; "Sin because they do not believe in me."

Those who do the works of God seek the glory of God and there is no righteousness in them but those in darkness seek their own glory in failing to do the works of God so their sin remains.

"Whoever speaks on his own seeks his own glory but He who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is truthful and there is no righteousness in him."

"The world must know that I love the Father and do as He instructed me. "

what is the difference between "sinning" and being a "slave" to sin? Does the saved not continue to sin?

All the angst about sin proceeds from the mistaken notion that sins are a violation of God's laws and that there will therefore be a punishment for them emanating from the wrath of God. This is utter nonsense. Sins are selfish and inconsiderate responses to our drives that satisfy US . . . but result in harm to others. They stifle the growth of our spiritual awareness and sensitivity in favor of our carnal enjoyment. (We feed our animal needs and starve our spiritual needs.) This is counter to God's desire for us . . . since our purpose is to develop a strong enough spiritual embryo to be reborn as Spirit at our death. Failure has negative consequences . . . but they are not a punishment.

Understanding that our true purpose here is to develop spiritually while surviving by satisfying our carnal needs should produce a more enlightened view of our predicament. We would not have carnally pleasurable experiences if they were prohibited or "sinful" in their own right. It is the indiscriminate pursuit and enjoyment of those pleasures REGARDLESS OF THEIR CONSEQUENCES TO OTHERS . . . that is sinful. This why the injunction to "love each other" is so much more encompassing than a mere ten commandments. Love will not allow us to harm others just to please ourselves so it covers far more circumstances.

You don’t know what I’ve been taught. We’ve never met.

Regarding the above, one can do good works while not believing Christ. On the other hand, one cannot believe Christ without doing good works.

A genuine believer does not sin because he does nothing on his own per Jesus teaching. That is if you continue in His word.

Reference;

"I do nothing on my own, I only say what the Father has taught for the one who sent me is with me He has not deserted me because I always do what pleases Him. "

This shows your ignorance on good works.

Why did Jesus say He came?

So His sheep would have life.

To testify the truth.

To proclaim the good news of the kingdom God.

Those are not three different items they are all the word of God.

The word of God is truth, life and good news.

So what are good works if you are to continue in Jesus' teaching as He said His followers must?

He said He came to be a ransom. John the Baptizer sad He was the lamb who takes away the sins of the world.

You side step all the things that point to works.

His life is a ransom for those who eat His flesh and drink His blood. Those who use His words and follow Him since His words are life.

His words are the ransom, God's word.

The Son is the lamb of God. Jesus wants you to join Him as the son, God's servant.
