How do you deal with your worry and anxiety? I know that I should trust in the Lord (and I do) but I am having great difficulty with unburdening myself. I am having a lot of anxiety about a situation and I cannot seem to release the feelings. I do tend to be a worrier by nature, but this level of anxiety is not usual for me and I feel overcome by it.

Trust the Lord and as part of that, seek professional help.
I am a world class worrier with Oak Leaf Cluster. It's actually a form of OCD, which is in itself an anxiety disorder. I didn't get the help I needed until I was in my 40s precisely because I thought I should be able to fix it on my own or through faith.
If you broke your arm, you'd go to a doctor. If your mind and emotions are causing you pain, you go to a doctor, too.
This book is what made me realize that I couldn't control it and that it was something beyond normal everyday worrying.
I recommend reading it as a start. But even before that, stop thinking there should be some magic way for you to "release the feelings". They are your feelings. Acknowledge them and accept that they exist. God already knows all about it.
Besides the Bible/faith, there's also relaxation exercises, meditation and meditation music, self-help books, poetry, etc. No reason why those can't be implemented. The more, the better.

Good luck.
Thank you for your advice. I will admit, I tend to take on the worries of others. And in this particular case, it is worry for my daughter. It is very hard to watch your child struggle and not be able to do much for them. I just offer her guidance, support, and encouragement.
I have chronic insomnia and lack of sleep is a contributory factor to the anxiety. I will check out the book you suggested.

Matthew 6:33-- Therefore, keep on seeking- FIRST- the kingdom and his ( YHWH(Jehovah) righteousness and all these other things will be added( sustenance, covering, spirituality)

Good advice. Thanks. I am a problem solver and it is hard to quiet my thoughts. I have never been very good at meditating because it can be very hard for me to quiet my mind.

NONE OF IT MATTERS.
It is so hard sometimes. I have to keep reminding myself that it really does not matter in the end.

I can relate. However, the difficulty in quieting our minds reveals how much we need it. If we can practice settling and calming our minds' root state, all other thinking becomes less cluttered and difficult. Worry and anxiety are like a noisy radio left on that we're sort of ignoring. Good to hear that exercise helps. It's got the double advantage (physically too).

Any suggestions on how to calm my mind? What works for you?
