There are many beautiful churches and places of worship. My mind always drifts from the play at the altar. I always think about the people who designed and built it. Who was the artist? What was their story. I like to feel the energy in a church.
You do realize that is why churches have spent Vast Fortunes making their dazzling beautiful buildings, don't you? "Dazzle 'em with....."

I love a beautiful church. The architecture, the painted stained glass, the candles, the sculptures. I have an extreme dislike for the cross.
I have sat in plain churches with little to no decorations. Plain scuffed wood floors, deeply polished pews and walls with simple windows. It too, was beautiful and had good energy.

God does resist the proud , as some are proud of their churches and even look down on other churches , were God prefers that Christians pray for their enemies , and to bless them by God , so they will not be cursed ..... As Christians do curse the churches of Jesus Christ through the spirit of antichrist who likes to divide the church ......... See God cannot bless the enemies of Christians who are in error when there is unforgiveness , But God can bring error churches into right thinking to God so they can be a blessing of God
I grew up a Catholic- and LOVED my church- and fought HARD to prove its teachings when JWs came to my door! I LOST- thank heavens! Th spirit kicked in!
When so many REFUSE to question their church dogma, the answer to the Topic is YES!
You're definition of worship is horse pile. In addition, no Catholic I know worships their church. What we do recognize is that the Catholic Church is the only Church that Jesus created. We respect and recognize its historical connection to Jesus and the Apostles, its Authority, and its Tradition.

I have an 1815 Friends' Meeting House nearby that is still active, and there's an interesting energy there, as well. I've met some of the Quakers who attend there on the county's "historical weekend", and I plan to go sit with them one of these days in that space. (Quakers sit in silence for an hour, no songs, sermons, readings, etc.)
I worship my church. It is wherever water and trees and quiet come together.
That is the REAL church. I was there yesterday!
ETA: I even took a picture of it. (Take note, those of you who think New Jersey is all concrete and highways. )
