Are you insisting that it MUST be more evil now in order to satisfy some evil spiritual cancer in your heart. If the world is more evil now then maybe we should go back to that Roman culture you must yearn for so that we can become "better" like the good old days?
YOU detest God's Word because you only know how to use it to threaten or hurt others. You shame Jesus with with your pathetic attempts at protecting "God's Word." God needs no more of people that refuse to see it is through the cross (humility, degradation, self-sacrifice, and denial of one's "rights") that one glorifies God.
Keep to your own kind of searching of the "word." The only thing you will find is a death sentence under the "LAW." Until you find Jesus, the Bible will only speak to a heart of darkness.

You don't get it yourself. All of us speaking believe the "word of God." We just don't believe in idolizing it like you continue to do. As an idol it is a rule book, a how to book for those without the Spirit of Christ but who know they NEED something in their hand to "take care of them."
Living in the Spirit is living in constant danger. It means doubting oneself and continual searching for God.
It truly is diving off the cliff and trusting God to be there. And it doesn't mean "rescue" necessarily. It means the cross, people calling you a wolf in sheep's clothing, people stating you are boastful and blasphemous or claiming you are a lover of "pleasure." That is all I have gotten from the fundamentalists I left so many years ago. The Bible is a guide through the perils of our own culture, but it is not a solution anymore than hanging on to a Bible a praising the "way it was." (Would that be like it was in Jesus' day when it was not uncommon for a Roman citizen to have a wife for bearing children, a woman as arm candy at parties, a woman for sexual gratification, and often a young boy to mentor including having sex with him?) Is that what would make our society better? To go back to the "good old days?"
So why is it that there are hundreds if not thousands of testimonies on the internet by people who left the cult of fundamentalism, but not a SINGLE testimony from anyone who became a liberal Christian or agnostic only to return?
Think on it.
I pray you can find the peace that Jesus wants to give you instead of that rulebook for you to look up answers. It's not easy to change--that's why you must be born again.

This is a good description of what can be seen coming from a fundamentalists mindset.
If you're dead in trespasses and sins, and refuse to repent, then the Gospel is bad news indeed. That's why you're offended.
