It's passages like that, that reveal the smallness of the biblical god-thing and makes it impossible for intelligent, educated, empathetic people to believe in it. Any god worthy of a capital G wouldn't be so needy and petty.

There come a day when fundamentalists will loose this mental image of a God with a big beard boiling over with rage at the world for not obeying him like a dog, and realize it is they who are creating the world they themselves condemn by their own words . What should be coming out of their mouths is super abounding grace, but because they are sin conscious especially what they think is sin in others, what comes out their mouths is anything but grace.
When you deny Biblical scripture because it doesn't fit your narrative you've conformed Gods word around your believe system instead of conforming your believe system around Gods word. That's extremely dangerous. It's not about you, it never has been, it never will be. It's about HIM.

I don't know how anyone claiming to be a christian can believe that. They had no idea about the nature and character of God, they didn't know God to make such assertions about him. Jesus Christ is the one who came and showed us the Father and your bible tells us to listen to Him.

God can't mess up. If God calls your car an orangutan, guess what? It's an orangutan. You're making the mistake of ascribing human characteristics and attributes to a non human. If God was beholden to the same laws of this earth as you and I, he wouldn't be God, he would be a mortal. Stop running and surrender, you'll have peace like you've never experienced in your life. God loves you.
Are you talking about homosexuality? The Bible is plain as day that it's a sin, but so are my sins, no biggie. A homosexual won't go to hell because of what they did, they'll go to hell for what they didn't do; accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Same thing for the liar, thief, person who is jealous, etc. Some homosexuals are too hung up on their homosexuality.
Well, some see this teaching as bigotry and want the whole Bible done away with, while yet others say it's a mistranslation and they can explain.

I can do all things through Christ and that includes not getting offended just like our Heavenly Father. God is not fallen man, who needs to destroy. Jesus's words were he came that we might have life, it is the devil who comes to destroy.

Another poster posted numerous verses, but you chose to literally ignore them because it doesn't fit your narrative. Yes God is loving, but he's also holy. He's not your "bro" or "homeboy", he's the maker of heaven and earth and deserves unconditional respect and awe.
