The Bible clearly states that Jesus is God. John 1:1 and Hebrews 1:8-10 couldn't be more clear. And yes, Jesus did claim to be God as the Jews well understood when they intended to stone him for making himself out to be God (John 10:33). The gospel of John in fact emphasizes the deity of Jesus.
