Since the celibate clergy is trashing the R.C. church, it might be a healthy move on the part of the church to trash that tradition and have a married clergy. The Eastern Rite of the R.C. has married priests (no, I am not referring to the Orthodox churches), and married clergy were once allowed in the Western Rite of the R.C. church.

There is nothing in R.C. doctrine to prevent this move, it is just a tradition in the Western Rite.

Time to dump it.

You can link to articles until the cows come home. So, really ...this is something that is obviously near and dear to your heart, so ...what is YOUR suggestion that would remedy this situation once and for all?

Why didn't you answer the question RomulusXXV asked you? It was a simple question that required no research or links. Just your opinion. He asked: "what is YOUR suggestion that would remedy this situation once and for all?" What IS your opinion?

Why do you think allowing priests to marry, would have any effect on some of them being attracted to kids?

If these priests are filled with tension because they cannot marry or be involved in relationships, they have PLENTY of gullible adult women in their parishes to choose from, not sure how that kind of tension would make someone be attracted to kids though?

Plus, many adults who molest kids, are married themselves.

Apparently, there is a concern or assertion that those who identify as having another gender, other than heterosexual are taking over the Roman Catholic Church?

It would only create more problems with divorced priests. Have you see how many divorces we have now and a priest's wife and family would need to live on a show string since the priest takes a vow of celibacy. The priest is married---to the church and has to devote his entire life to it. That is the life of a priest and men should know that before taking the vows.

I would say----follow what the experts say who deal with these problems everyday. That is my opinion. If something doesn't work then do something else and stop doing the same things that do no good.

Well, that's obviously a non-answer. What RomulusXXV asked, as a response to your link supposing that gay men are preying on gay teens, was "What do you suggest, the extermination of gay people?" Is that the only answer you can come up with to a direct question?

What do YOU think should be done about gay people? You keep posting links about gay people. What is it you want to happen?

This vow of celibacy is a doctrine of men, and it doesn't seem to be working. Anyone who harms innocent children should be jailed, along with those who conspire to cover it up. And, it would be foolish to get married and still require the priest to be celibate? If you desire for this institution to be male dominated, then keep things as they are, but this tradition isn't working.

Thanks, mensaguy, for prompting Janelle to respond to the question asked of her regarding whether or not homosexuals (most of whom are pedophiles according to Janelle) should be executed. Here is a guy, Steven Anderson, who certainly believes this and he is very vocal about it:

This mentality is an affront or insult to true Christianity.
