Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same; 4 for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil.
We may be in subjection to the governing authorities, but that does not mean they are just. There is corruption all throughout most earthly government, especially at the upper levels. The state surely can put a person to death, but that does not mean it is just. Jesus was crucified by the governing authorities even though he was innocent. I can't really imagine what your post has to do with a crazy man chopping off his girlfriend's head - it seems pretty bizarre and out of place in this thread unless you are implying that he had the right to do it because God made him an authority over her. If you are implying she deserved to be beheaded then I would conclude you are as sick as the man that cut his girlfriend's head off in front of her three year old child.

What prompted your post, if you care to explain.

A Christian male in Washington state is under arrest after confessing to beheading his girlfriend because she refused to repent.

Most everyone hears that "voice"in the back of their head, telling them not to do it, to stop now, or to say something, or the other thread that told the woman to push the alarm, but when that voice tells us to strike out at another human...

When does the act cross the line and how will the organized church address such tragedies?
It seems obvious he suffers from mental illness if he hears "voices". He is being charged with 1st degree murder, which is appropriate.

Follow the Lord first. Follow the laws in place by the government.

That's basically what the Bible is saying. That's all.

It depends on whether you are talking about OT or NT.

In the OT, there are verses instructing the faithful to kill blasphemers without mercy, even entire cities of people.

However this has nothing to do with what the guy did to his GF.

This act more than crosses the line, especially if you know right from wrong.
But his church would say he was a great guy and never seemed psychotic?

There is no difference in what this psychotic did from that which you attribute to the faithful.
If you believe the faithful were to slaughter men, women and children, then you have issues.

Answer a simple question?. Do you need the bible to tell you murder is wrong, if not what other than the bible is the source for telling you this. You would be better saying nothing than ensaring yourself with your own words.Amaze me and tell me God speaks to by something other than the bible confirming to you whether it was God or not. If you cannot give an answer clear and conscise, go and crawl back under the bible you came from, if you won't to put me down because i say it how it is.
