In a forensic pilgrimage, a scholar asks, ‘What did Jesus look like?’
Prof. Joan E. Taylor continues a journey she began years ago on a kibbutz in Israel, as she examines the dress, skin tone, and hair style of the Christian Messiah in her new book

Interesting read, but she is correct, all those pictures we have is not the Jesus of the bible.
but for topic sake, "a talking point". the Jesus of the bible is described.
Isaiah 53:1 "Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
Isaiah 53:2 "For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; (just as any ordinary Jewish looking child of the time), and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him, (again ordinary).
Isaiah 53:3 "He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Isaiah 53:4 "Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
Isaiah 53:5 "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed".
to me, the forensic that should been studied is what was "INWARD" instead of what was outward. for the character or the content of the heart is better measured/studied that would be the color of one's skin, hair, or eyes. but it's good study.

That's one of the reasons why the Bible was written.
Jesus came and visited Kenneth E. Hagin many years ago , and He said Jesus had dark hair with a wave , and He had on Ancient Roman sandals , apart from that This Pastor did not elaborate Jesus appearance , still Jesus did visit Him about four times in His early ministry ........God did burn a cross right on His hand which was for extra faith

I would not believe a word of anything Kenneth Hagin claims. He was a wacky early father of the name it and claim it word of faith movement and he robbed people by peddling thousands of books filled with another gospel that is no gospel at all. I read most of his books years ago in the early 90s, back when I was still searching for the truth.
John Shelby Spong tells in one of his lectures that it was only later in life that he learned that Jesus was a Jew. Prior to that the pictures that he'd seen of Jesus in books - blond hair, blue eyes, a fair complexion - led Spong to believe that Jesus was a Swede!

All those pictures of Jesus were real pictures, they just were not of Jesus, they were known faces of Pagan Gods. The oldest face known is the face of the Queen of Babylon in my opinion, and there are still statues of this Queen dating back to the 9th century B.C.
3000 year old statues of Libertus, the same face we have on our own statue of Libertus.

Bible facts on the matter are: It was a dishonor for an Israelite male to have long hair. Only the Nazarites had permission to not cut their hair. They could not drink any alcohol. Jesus was a Nazarene, not a Nazarite. So in their pictures of Jesus for the last 1750 years show him bringing dishonor upon his Father and himself. Indeed they were the dark ages. Unfortunately they still are for most.
Long Auburn hair, beard and mustache, greenish blue eyes, 5' 10" to 6 foot, between 185-195 pounds.
