Where in that verse does it say that sunset was "coming on"?

The Greek word translated for "come" is in the second aorist tense.

Additionally, the woman wouldn't be able to go do the other "necessary" things because that would be the sabbath day (no work can be done).
Strong's
From opse; late; feminine (as noun) afternoon (early eve) or nightfall (later eve) -- even(-ing, (-tide)).

Yes at the setting of the sun when it begins to set OR nightfall. So which do you believe sabbath starts? Do you believe it starts AFTER the sun has complete set or when it is setting (dusk)?

I don't really care when Sabbath starts, I'm merely pointing out the holes in your ridiculous assertion, as well as the simple fact that there is no reason to worry about it. "Evening" appears to be an indeterminate time before dark that could be hours long.

I get it - you don't care. I as well as others do care when the Sabbath Day starts and ends.

The Sabbath Day doesn't start and end in evenings in the Bible. The day is the period of the Sabbath Day.

When the sun no longer casts shadows

KJV

Jer 6:4 Prepare ye war against her; arise, and let us go up at noon. Woe unto us! for the day goeth away, for the shadows of the evening are stretched out.

Brenton

Jer 6:4 Prepare yourselves for war against her; rise up, and let us go up against her at noon. Woe to us! for the day has gone down, for the shadows of the day fail.
