This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

Any other thoughts?

I think the conventional wisdom is that it means to multiply the number of humans on earth. But I do like your point about multiplying the fruits of the Holy Spirit in the earth.

It's a comic story of people who have such a huge ego they feel a need to expand and repopulate it.

It's to learn. That is fruitful.

And to pass on what you learned. That's how it multiplies.

"be fruitful and multiply?" is from Genesis where God told Adam and Eve to have children.

"you love one another as I have loved you" is from John 13 where Jesus tells his disciples to love each other. He continued: "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another".

These were his parting instructions to the disciples.

It means live your life to the fullest, do what makes you happy, prosper, and add to the world (not take away). It relates to what Jesus talked about as the healthy tree, versus the withered and rotten one.

No rocket science here, kids. No overthinking needed.

Right. No need to overthink it. Just read what it says, and in what context. There are no contradictions in the translations either.

"God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

"God blessed them; and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth."

"And God blesseth them, and God saith to them, 'Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule over fish of the sea, and over fowl of the heavens, and over every living thing that is creeping upon the earth.'

It means to get busy and make some babies and if you married and not have a Child, you are sinning and disobeying God lol <<---believe it or not, I know someone who feels they must have a child when they get married because it is a commandment to be fruitful and multiply.
