Our anti-Christian friends don’t want to read about the good things Christians are doing. It ruins their argument.
You fundamentalists accuse everyone who does good works if they are not christians to be earning their way to heaven, and because you believe everyone is desperately wicked if they are not christian, they cannot possibly do good works just for the sake of it without any desire for reward.
…3But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 5And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. Truly I tell you, they already have their reward.…

I don't know why people are so worried about a "reputation" in front of men anyway. I found that Bible admonishment also to pass the smell test and I try to use it.

Talk about nonsense, and unfounded bickering?
I've never argued churches don't help the needy. I know very many that do. I've contributed to some of their fundraisers.
By using the subject line he did, BF was being his usual self - making stuff up to pretend Christians are being persecuted and to cast aspersions on the people who don't kowtow to his little club.
You lost me Jimmie. I posted a Bible verse then BF didn't think it was applicable and all of a sudden I posted a Bible verse with the motivation of...?
