Not when a generation has been raised and conditioned to think evil is good and good is evil as it is nowadays. The antichrist will be appealing to the world.

Actually Revelation teaches ( Rev 16)that With 3 inspired expressions, from satans side. Every kingdom( govt, armies, supporters) on earth will be mislead to stand in opposition to Gods king= 99%--How?--The result=Daniel 2:44) Rev 19)--By making it look good to the mortal heart-2Corinthians 11:12-15, 2 Cor 4:4 is how. The image of the beast looks good to the mortal heart.
The bible teaches--Whenever they are saying-peace and security-sudden destruction will be upon them. Man will put there hope in a flag and man. So it will look like-peace and security(with words) Those that know God know 100% his kingdom is mankinds only remaining hope.

And then most people wake up and realize it's all just a bad dream!

In the late 80s - early 90s, my father got very much into short wave radio. Which was kind of ironic because it was mostly religious programs, and my father was staunchly irreligious up to that point. The by-product of cable TV not coming to our town, I guess. I remember the "end times" preachers on there were certain that bar codes and/or debit cards contained "the mark of the breast". One preacher in particular (Brother Stair, if memory serves) warned that debit cards (which were still fairly new at the time) was ushering in a cashless society and one-world currency; by participating, one was accepting the mark of the beast. Listeners were also implored to avoid purchasing anything with a barcode, or to ask cashiers to manually enter purchases into the system, rather than scan the barcode; scape 'em off if you had to. Anyway, 30ish years later, who gives a second thought to using a debit card or barcode? But at the time, these dudes were hardcore convinced that End Times were a'comin. By 1994, I was just lying in wait for our own Ruby Ridge-like standoff to happen.

A monetary system usually only lasts around 300 years, give or take, before it collapses.

This is speculation. It may or may not be true. You should not state it as a fact when you know good and well that you are not certain about it.

Sad to see you quote her - she was a really negative person and a hypocrite who said she hated government social programs, but used them at the end of her life.

I like the quote irregardless of who said it. And I know that our experiences can influence us, one way or the other.
