excuse cell phone grammat

when it comes to wellness, i think jesus may have been on to something

animals, such as birds and lizards, use a form of deception to ensure their survival.

humans most common form of deception, lying, usually ensures* professional* survival with obvious benefits; on the contrary, lying does not only* correlate with increase symptoms of colds and sore throats, but has been found to create stress which is a precursor to many illnesses.

when animals use deception, it assures their mortality

when use humans use their* most common form of deception, lying, it may not nescessarily benefit their mortality

while lying may benefit ones career or business partnerships, it my not necessarily increase ones mortality.

while this is probably blatant, forgiveness correlates with better psychological and physical health

altruism, the kind that doesnt expect anything in return, has been found to benefit health, even though the selfless act is not recipricated

bible

what jesus taught:

Matthew 11:28-30 (KJV)
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Matthew 6:25, 27 (KJV)
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
.
27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
Matthew 5:37 (KJV) But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

Not saying that you're right or wrong, but one thing is for sure is the word of God. God word give long life as to this, Exodus 20:12 "Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee".

this is a command with a blessing.

but about your lying tongue in the OP, a tongue of deception, Proverbs 18:21 "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof".

this was proved out in the Garden of Eden, when they ate the "Fruit" of Lies, as deception, the result was "DEATH". just as Hosea 10:13 states, "Ye have plowed wickedness, ye have reaped iniquity; ye have eaten the fruit of lies: because thou didst trust in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men".

so from the Garden until today you just might be right.

there are a few, and many more scripture come to mind, but I believe these cover your statement in the OP.

PICYJAG.

Great links!

I see the benefit of Jesus being more along the lines of this:

Matt 7:2
1Do not judge, or you will be judged. 2For with the same judgment you pronounce, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. 3Why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but fail to notice the beam in your own eye?…

Jesus shows what that would look like if a person were able to pull it off. I think the reason it is so important is because, in the end, it's only our judgement about ourselves that can hurt us. A person should probably learn to forgive so they can learn to extend compassion to themselves.
