jesus often taught people to simply do this: forgive

we live in a modern world of litigation where people sue to be monetarily rewarded with compensation. this is often defined as justice.

individually speaking, i wouldnt sue or press charges against someone who wronged me

to clarify, i think people should pursue the courts if they were indeed wronged by someone

for me, i am satisfied with the meekness of forgiveness

in matthew, jesus is accounted for saying this:

Matthew 18:21-34 (KJV)
21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.

GINOLJC, to all.
Firse, We live in a world today where everyone don't think, nor believe, or act the same. and two, everyone is not a christian, (that's the reason why we have Laws and a court system). forgivness is Good, but there are matters, civil and or criminal that need attention of the courts, (don't take the Law into your OWN hands). now, amoung brothers and sisters, there is no need because...... because .... we all should be of the same mind. but that's not the case all the time even in churches.

but Governments and the court are ordained of God.

Romans 13:1 "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

Romans 13:2 "Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

Romans 13:3 "For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

Romans 13:4 "For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Romans 13:5 "Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

Romans 13:6 "For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.

LIKEWISE,
Titus 3:1 "Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,

Titus 3:2 "To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

Titus 3:3 "For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

God almighty is about Law and Order. do good you have no problems, if falsely accused, Matthew 27:12 "And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing".

Matthew 5:11 "Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Matthew 5:12 "Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

1 Peter 3:16 "Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

1 Peter 3:17 "For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

PICYJAG.

first, i wasnt trying to make a generalization. second, i am not advocating a theocracy

third, i believe in separation of church and state

finally, i am glad that people do not act, believe or think the same, because the world would be rather boring, predictable and less individually oriented

Thanks for the response,

I don't believe in separation of Church and state, it the people who are running both church and state that I worry about.

as for a theocracy, it been here, and always will be in all forms of Governments. it's only how much. people can put their heads in the sand if they want to, but many Governments decisions, including our, (the US) have made decisions based on religion thoughts and belifs.

be it a governments as a,
Monarchy, Unitary States, Totalitarian, Socialism, Republic, Commonwealth, or even an Anarchy. the one agreeable problem is all think and believe that they are right.

and in all these type of Governments, none are set up for "Forgiveness" . NOT THE ONE HERE ON EARTH ruled ot run by "MAN".

it is blatantly apparent that there has always been a subliminal form of economic nationalism that has always been a sort unspoken rule that enables hypocritial people to have keys to states and cities. well, actually that is what crazy conspiracy theorist tend to usually think. if i want a job, i know who to be nice too. if i were a poltician, i would strive to bring economic development to a state, county or borough. to tell you the truth, i tend not to put much emphasis on politics or world affairs. i do, however, like the concept of forgiveness. i am a pacifist so it is probably blantant that forgiveness would appeal to a pacifist
